2017. is the 45th anniversary of the Niš (Serbia) go club. The first go club in Niš was called “Elef” and it was formed at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Niš, as part of the University Sports Association. After 45 years of operation, there are now two go clubs in Niš: the Go club “Student” and the Go club “Progo”, with large go school where many young players can learn to play go.

The University go club “Student” was the host of the European Go Congress in 1989 which was widely recognised as one of the best organized go tournaments ever.

It is our pleasure to invite you to join us in celebrating this anniversary. We are preparing an unforgettable weekend of tournament, gifts, prizes, and a party all while playing go.
